By Alexandra Murphy ARPS

At first glance, these photographs seem to be portraits of dogs, which they are, but on closer inspection they are not. In each image, there is an aberration, a clue - glass reflections and scratches mark the surface of the image, suggesting to the viewer that what they see is not life-like, but is in fact a taxidermy specimen on display behind glass. This project forms part of my exploration into the relationship between photographic representation and the museum collection.
