By Aubrey Wade

Two boys fish their cricket ball out of the Daman river in Vapi, an industrial city on the south coast of Gujurat State, India. The water's colour is a result of pollution originating in Vapi's 700 small scale chemical factories, which have created critical pollution levels ranked amongst the worse in Asia. From the series, Along Our Western Shores, which explores marine pollution on India's western coast, and efforts to combat it.
