From the Series: A Polaroid for a Refugee

By Giovanna del Sarto

Idomeni Camp, Greece, 2016. This is the border between Greece and Macedonia. This picture fully captures the situation in which refugees are. Being a refugee is not a choice. You reluctantly leave your country because you want to carry on living, that’s why you are willing to risk everything. This project is based on the concept of giving something back to the refugees, maybe a little part of their life captured in an instant. In fact everyone I photographed has a Polaroid picture now.
