A tributary of the Jökugil River winds its way from the higher mountains of Landmannalaugar eventually running into the large Tungnaá delta. Seen from ground level it is difficult to imagine its abstract nature. It is only when viewed from a height that the textures of sediment deposition reveal themselves nestled between the many winding tributaries of the glacial river.
